General Information

The Boys Basketball League is for boys of all skill levels in Grades 4-6.  The league is divided into divisions, based on skill level.  Skills to be taught in this league include dribbling, passing, shooting and defending. In competing with others in the community, boys and girls are able to develop a strong ethic of sportsmanship, learning to compete in a friendly manner. Incorporated in this process is our First Friends Sports Ministry Devotional program to enhance each athlete’s development outside of practices and games.

League Dates:  August  –  November  Specific dates TBD for 2025

Fee: $85.00 league fee (2024 fee subject to change)
$20.00 jersey fee. Black/red reversible basketball jersey from First Friends Sports. If you purchased one in previous years you do not need to purchase a new one.

Refund policy: $5.00 fee retained if refund requested. No refund will be given to any player who withdraws after the second week of practices. An exception may be granted at the discretion of the staff due to medical reasons only. Further, no refund will be given to any player removed from the league during the course of the season for disciplinary reasons.

Registration: Registration will be available online and paper forms will be in the church brochure racks by TBD.  Registrations will be accepted until the league fills up or TBD, whichever occurs first.

Click on “Register Now” button on this webpage to register with debit/credit card.  Please check your email account after completing the online registration to make sure you receive a confirmation email.  If you don’t receive an email within minutes of registering your child, please contact the sports office at 330-966-6868.

Request Policy: One request is permitted on registration form per child. Please click on the link Request Policy (updated Aug 2023) to read the policy regarding this.

**Disclaimer: Please note that fairness and positive competition are a high priority in our program. Thus, our league leadership reserves the right to alter team rosters/move players once scrimmages have been played in order to balance teams if necessary. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

Skill Assessment Dates:  (Plan to attend both assessment dates)
1st Assessment:  TBD. If you are unable to attend the assigned assessment time, please email sports@firstfriends.org.

2nd Assessment:  TBD –The schedule will be posted on this website page after the first assessments.   It is important to be at both of the skill assessments your child is scheduled for. If not able to attend, please email Sports Office at sports@firstfriends.org.

Mandatory Parent’s Meeting: TBD
Note to Parents: Parent’s Meeting is mandatory. It is highly recommended that all parents attend the meeting for league child is registered in, if not possible please call the Sports Office at 330-966-6868.

Practice Day and Times:  TBD

Game Day and Times:  Saturdays, Times:   TBD.   Some weekday games at end of season are possible.

End of Season Celebration:   TBD

Policy Statement:  (Oct 12, 2017)  Please note that when we list ‘boy’s/men’s’ or ‘girl’s/women’s’ we are referring to the birth gender of the participant.  For all of our leagues, classes, unless they are designated as Coed, it is our policy that players participate within the gender designation that complies with the previous statement.  We want to thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter.
